From conventional production plant to resilient competence plant through Industry 4.0 (Plant 4.0)

2023 - 2025

The long-term economic success of a manufacturing factory is often significantly influenced by how well production can adapt to market requirements and technological changes.
The automotive industry is currently facing a major transformation towards electrification and digitalization. As part of the project "From conventional production plant to resilient competence plant through Industry 4.0 (Plant 4.0)", Mercedes-Benz is working with selected partners to implement a flexible factory for the next generations of vehicles.

The PROCEED platform is being further developed as part of the research activities of the Technical University of Berlin with innovative ideas for future production control. The aim is to separate line control and machine configuration for the dynamic and flexible realignment of the assembly line.
